My Kitchen Renovation

Hello everyone. I have been meaning to do a post on my kitchen extension and now that I have added some furniture I thought it was time to update you all.  There is no doubt that doing any sort of a renovation is a minefield. There are so many decisions to make and the process can be stressful and overwhelming at times.

When Catic Construction and I first began talks about the extension for the family room we sought the design expertise of Wesley O'Brien interiors to help with the kitchen plan. As we are a young family I wanted a place where I could cook/do laundry while my daughter could play or watch T.V. Wesley cleverly incorporated a utility area and extra cloak/storage room into our space without compromising on the light entering the room. I am delighted with how the room turned out and Wesley really helped maximise our space.

I also have been working with Sarah Louise Dunne Interiors since the beginning of the project. Many hours were spent picking wall colours, lights and colour scheme. I am delighted with the end result. Sarah convinced me to move away from any of the cooler tones which I originally was leaning towards, Instead we went for warmer colours. Now the room feels so bright and warm even on rainy dark days. For the kitchen walls we went for The Little Green in 'Slaked Lime mid'. It is a bright greige colour and worked really well with the colour we picked for the kitchen cabinets. Sarah has been a Godsend to me and I could not recommend her enough. When it came to the kitchen I wanted to keep it classic and timeless. Our room designer Wesley also designs kitchens for Carrick Kitchen so it made picking a kitchen vendor extremely easy having seen their previous work on my best friends kitchen,  I gave Wesley a few prerequisites and he came up with the kitchen design which lived up to my expectations. I was extremely happy with the quality of the kitchen and for the size of my kitchen the price was extremely reasonable. If you are in the market for a kitchen it is definitely worth giving Carrick Kitchen a call.

With the furniture Sarah and I wanted to keep it neutral and classic. She nailed it with the table and chairs she sourced. Sarah has been such a pleasure to work with and I don't think my vision would have been realised with out her help.

I also could not recommend the marble company enough. I had shopped around and this company gave me by far the best price. We decided to go for the full splash back and I am so glad we did and it really finishes the kitchen off nicely. You can find their Instagram handle
