Long Hair Don't Care

Hi everyone! I am finally doing my post on the supplements I have been taking recently, as promised. Thanks for waiting patiently for the post. I felt it necessary to wait this amount of time to try out the supplements before I could review them honestly. As some of you may know I am due to get married in June and having sported the "Lob" for the past number of years I decided to grow my hair out affording me more options for the big day. I made a visit to my local Holland and Barrett (Nutgrove Shopping Centre) to shop around around for some supplements which might aid my quest for a longer mane.

I was unbelievably impressed with the sales adviser Martin, who really listened to my requests. He recommended a Complete B complex, Biotin (which I already take) and Silica Complex. He explained in a language I could understand the science behind the supplements and why they would benefit me. Six weeks on I am unbelievably impressed with the advice I was given. If any of you ladies want to grow your hair healthily and quickly while not breaking the bank you need to read this post.

Biotin

This has been a favourite of mine for over a year now and I can not recommend it highly enough. While Biotin may have a role to play in many functions (helping your nervous system to function and your body break down food) its main function is to encourage hair and nail growth. Working in a hospital I would wash my hands up to fifty times a day which unfortunately led to my nails becoming brittle and weak. This is no longer a problem for me and my nails are stronger than ever. I feel that my hair has also become thicker and grows at a faster rate.

B Complex

This supplement consists of various different B vitamins. It contains B1 (Thiamine) which helps the body break down carbahydrates (which gives us more energy) and helps our cells rejuvenate, B2 (Riboflavin) which acts as an antioxidant fighting off free radicals which may slow down the ageing process, B3 (Niacin) which helps to regulate HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol) and B9 (Folate). Ever since I have starting taking it I have noticed an increase in my energy and no longer struggle to get out of bed in the morning.

Silica Complete
You can buy HERE

While Biotin helps the hair and nails grow the Silica Complete helps to strengthen it. This is imperative for those of you girls like me with chemically enhanced hair!! Bleach can make your hair brittle and subject to breakage so anything to help strengthen hair is important to me.

It is always important to remember that supplements are meant to be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and not to replace it. Also if anyone has any medical conditions it can be helpful to consult their doctor before taking any additional supplements.
