9 month update

Hello everyone! I can't believe I am already writing Isabelle's 9 month update - 9 months in/9 months out! The past three months have certainly brought on lots of new changes since I last did my update.

We began introducing solids on her 6 month bday and thankfully she took to this really well. As a result we've noticed a massive growth spurt and while she was always on the lower side of normal with weight she now sits comfortably in the 50th centile for weight and 40th for height. At the moment she is still in 6-9 month clothes and we've moved her up to the size 4 nappies.

She had her 6-9 month check up with the district nurse in Ireland who was super happy she was hitting all her milestones. She was clapping by 7 months and already has three words to her vocabulary (Mama, dada and nana)

Her teeth have also come up and now she has 6 teeth (4 top and 2 bottom). This area we have had some rough nights with but I think the teeth really helped Isabelle with the solids and might be a reason why she really took so well to it.

She currently is still exclusively breastfed however the feeds have dropped significantly since I introduced solids. She generally feeds mostly in the morning and evenings and sometimes for comfort throughout the day.

I left Isabelle for two full days recently as I had a course for work and she did really well on solids and water all day. Unfortunately she refused the expressed milk I had left for her but I was reassured by the fact she had ate a lot during the day. I am going to be persistent with the bottle over the next few weeks and I think it will be better in the long run and give me a bit more freedom.

In terms of motor skill Isabelle is attempting to crawl and plays happily now on her stomach but is a few weeks away from moving yet I would suspect. All in good time.
